Alan 'the bass' Hunt
As founder member of the band,
Al’s seen members come and go, but has insisted that the band remains
loyal to The Split’s Massif whilst ensuring that the band stays faithful
to its roots. In fact some say the band’s rooted to the spot but that’s
another story. Never a victim of fashion, Al appears at best casual and
at worst…worst. Although the same age as the ever-youthful drummer, Al’s
lived-in, tortured appearance from obsessive, mindless jumping, acts as
a double-edged sword: both adding years to his features whilst
attracting an ever-increasing number of the more mature female fans.
Unusual factoid:
Al’s left-handed, but plays a right –handed bass!
There’s nowt as queer as folk!

Simon Jones
Lead/harmony vocalist Simon is most unusually the front man of the
outfit, whilst playing drums. Never one to shun the limelight, you’ll
often find that the stage spots are focussed just above the drums!
Whilst having one of the more demanding jobs of remembering the lyrics
to over 100 songs (who wrote this?), Simon’s unusual choice of words
often adds colour (& confusion) to the performance. Originally from
Staffordshire, Simon’s fought off the inevitability of picking up the
local dialect of North Devon, home of The Splits. However, as he often
says ‘I love Devon; I know where I’m to!’
Unusual factoid:
Simon’s son has played in a 60s rock’n’roll band since the age of 13!

Cory
'the bird'
McDonnell
Latest edition to The Split Personalities, Cory is the new boy-wonder
from the same stable that brought you Daniel Simon. 14 years old (plus
V.A.T.), Cory brings a new dimension to the band with his dry humour and
wet look (only joking…he’s only just arrived!) Always buying new guitars
and equipment, a driving licence to ferry his own
gear would be a nice touch. Although Cory has the usual guitarist’s
inept ability to get his own gear working, Cory's strengths are his slow
hand style, his laid back attitude and his willingness to stand in the
rain waiting for the band’s transport to arrive…late!
Unusual factoid:
Unusual in that we haven’t got one yet!

Daniel 'eye candy'
Simon
Daniel took up the reigns of lead/rhythm guitarist in 2003. His talents
soon included harmony/lead vocals and ‘musical director’ (he
asked me to put that in). 14 years old plus V.A.T (oh, we’ve done that
one), Daniel’s love of harmony vocals and songs from the early 60s made
him ideal for the job (and he could strum a few chords!). A modest lad
(!), Dan’s skills include live sound and totally over-the-top showing
off, (sorry!) perfected
showmanship, which adds a greater visual impact to the show. Dan’s
currently studying at Performers’College in Essex, where he was offered
a scholarship for his singing, dancing and acting abilities (big ’ead),
but often returns to his 4th
love, slumming it with the band!
Unusual factoids:
Daniel owes all his abilities and inspiration to his much-talented Dad
who also plays in a rock’n’roll band
